Government Begins Exercise for Local Body Elections in AP

The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated key preparations for the conduct of local body elections. As part of the process, the state has constituted a dedicated commission to examine reservations in the upcoming local polls. The move is seen as a significant administrative step toward ensuring a legally compliant and structured election framework.

The commission, headed by retired IAS officer Ranjan Mishra, has been tasked with studying the issue of BC reservations in detail. It has been directed to submit its comprehensive report to the government within 45 days. The panel’s findings are expected to play a crucial role in finalizing the reservation framework for the local elections.
