A massive explosion was reported in Tehran, the capital of Iran, triggering panic in several parts of the city. According to Iranian state media, the blast occurred near Tehran Square, where protesters had gathered to demonstrate against the recent military actions by the United States and Israel. Another powerful explosion was also reported in Qazvin, another city in Iran. The exact cause of the explosions and the group responsible remain unclear. However, Israel had earlier warned that strikes could occur in both Tehran and Qazvin.
Despite the ongoing tensions and explosions, thousands of civilians reportedly took to the streets of Tehran, raising slogans against the United States and Israel. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran, claiming that the country’s military capabilities are being dismantled. In a social media post, Trump said that Iran’s navy and air force are being destroyed and its missile and drone systems are being neutralized. Reports by international media also indicated that Trump told leaders during a recent G7 virtual meeting that Iran could soon be forced to surrender.
