Bunny Vas, a long-time collaborator with Geetha Arts, recently launched his own banner, Bunny Vas Works, to produce stories he is passionate about. His next film, Mithra Mandali, is scheduled for a Diwali release. Earlier, under his banner, he produced Little Hearts, a small film made on a ₹2.5 crore budget that went on to earn nearly ₹50 crores at the box office. To celebrate the success, Bunny Vas and the producers organized a grand success meet, inviting stars and industry veterans including Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Aravind, and Bandla Ganesh. During the event, Bandla Ganesh, known for his outspoken nature, made comments about the film industry framed as a “reality check,” which didn’t sit well with everyone present.
Ganesh addressed Little Hearts lead actor Mouli, cautioning him against taking comparisons, such as being called “smarter than Vijay Deverakonda or Mahesh Babu,” seriously. He emphasized that young actors should focus on their craft rather than social media attention or praise. He added, “Whether it’s Vijay Deverakonda wishing you or Mahesh Babu tweeting, all of this is temporary. In this industry, every Friday brings a new hero,” underscoring the fleeting nature of fame. While his comments were intended as advice, many felt they were out of place during a celebratory event.
During the promotions of Mithra Mandali, Bunny Vas shared his thoughts: “I felt uncomfortable and disappointed with Bandla Ganesh’s words at the event. At one point, I considered responding on stage but decided against it to avoid overshadowing the celebration. I even thought about calling him later, but I didn’t.” While some agreed with Ganesh’s point about the harsh realities of the film industry, many felt the success meet was not the right setting for such remarks. Bunny Vas had organized the event to celebrate the film’s success, and the comments disrupted the intended mood.
