In just about another week, Kantara Chapter 1: The Legend is set to release. So far, in terms of promotions, except for releasing the trailer and holding two or three press meets in Kannada, Hombale Films has been silent. The hero and director Rishab Shetty has taken the team to Bengaluru to start press meets and will soon be heading to Hyderabad. Until now, things are going well, but the blockbuster response that Ojas has received is bound to cause some tension for the Kantara team. This is because fans enjoying Pawan Kalyan’s swag aren’t calming down anytime soon. Even though ticket prices are quite high, repeat runs are drawing in collections like a rainstorm.
By the time Kantara releases, Ojas will be in its second week. Since it coincides with the festive season, there is a strong possibility that the current trend will continue until then. Even though Kantara has distribution support from Mythri, diverting attention away from Pawan Mania toward Kantara is not going to be easy. On top of that, Ojas has increased ticket prices, and by the time they reduce them, Kantara will arrive. This means that even in its second week, Ojas could pose a real challenge to Kantara. The team is taking seriously the mixed responses received online to the three-minute trailer.
Usually, if a Pawan movie gets average or hit talk, it becomes hard to stop the momentum. Seeing such a massive response has brought tears of joy to the fans. Even Sujith has come out to share many unknown details. Ojas Gambheer is planning to release a novel about its past. Judging by the current trend, it seems likely to remain strong for at least ten days leading up to Sankranti. If that happens, Kantara may get an opening, but competition will certainly be tough. Let’s see how exciting this battle turns out to be.
