Trade circles report a sharp drop since Monday, even after Baahubali: The Epic opened to record-breaking numbers. With the exception of major cities like Hyderabad, most regions experienced strong earnings for the first three days before a sharp drop. During the first weekend, moviegoers who had been waiting a long time to see both parts simultaneously were able to do so. Although many venues were packed for Saturday and Sunday performances, the general momentum has now slowed. It's interesting to note that in its initial days of release, Baahubali: The Epic even surpassed Mass Jathara in terms of attendance.
At first, fans thought the re-release would bring in between ₹50 and ₹100 crores, but current trends indicate that may not be realistic. Even though it is a timeless epic, the general public has already seen the movie countless times on TV and mobile devices, so going to the theater again is uncertain. According to trade reports, Baahubali: The Epic has already made over ₹40 crore, of which ₹30 crore has come from India and ₹10 crore has come from abroad. If the current rate of growth continues, it could soon reach the ₹50 crore milestone.
However, the movie continues to attract large audiences in some areas. In the first week, more than 30,000 tickets were sold at Hyderabad's Prasads Multiplex alone. Packed houses are also being seen at special LED screenings hosted by fan groups of celebrities like Allu Arjun. However, this craze isn't the same in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In any case, there is no denying that Baahubali: The Epic has broken previous records for re-releases. Now that its wave has subsided, everyone's attention is on SSMB29's November 15 grand launch.
